Pre-Show: Neville & Lucha Dragons vs. Cosmic Wasteland

Dylan Osborn: Good Pre-show match from the ones I bother to watch, good fast paced action with all members getting to show off their stuff. Stardust quote “sacrificing” his partner to get Neville into the Queen’s Bow for the win.

Verdict: **3/4

Should You Watch It: Yes

Eric Nadas: This was a fun opener match that should be on the main show between these six to get the crowd going. We had The Lucha Dragons doing some cool stuff, The Ascension obviously getting their shit in. Favorite moment of the match has gotta be when Neville and The Lucha Dragons diving off the top rope to everybody or Neville with that Phoenix Splash of his. This match ended off when Neville went for the Red Arrow but Stardust shoved one of the members of Ascension to Neville and hit him with The Queen’s Crossbow for the pin and The Cosmic Wasteland stands tall.

Verdict: **1/2

Should You Watch It: No

Kevin Owens vs. Ryback(c) – WWE Intercontinental Championship

Dylan Osborn: A solid, hard hitting brawl by both men, Owens definitely being given more offense than Ryback putting him over more. Owens winning through a rake in the eyes, so a slightly dirty finish, but not taking away from the victory itself.

Verdict: ***

Should You Watch It: Yes

Eric Nadas: This match was solid, really liked how Kevin Owens kept going for Ryback’s shoulder, it shows how calculated Kevin Owens is. Ryback got a few big moves in like gorilla pressing Owens at the beginning of the match but it was all Owens during this match. One thing I loved is how Ryback said “ref my shoulder!” hou hou hou, the ref can’t do anything! Finish of the match is Ryback going for shellshock but gets raked in the eyes and rolls him up for new champ. Finish was meh, but it really doesn’t matter because Kevin Owens is your New Intercontinental Champion Of The World!

Verdict: ***

Should You Watch It: No

OKayFabe: This match is what you shouldn’t open a Ppv with. Despite Owens winning the championship and possibly increasing match quality, this wasn’t the way to start.

Ryan Davis: I don’t like how Ryback was the first one out. Champions should always come out last, especially on a show called “Night of Champions.” Have I told any of you that years ago, I would get Ricky Steamboat and Jimmy Snuka mixed up? For the longest time I thought Randy Savage had that awesome match with Jimmy Snuka. Weird, right? The Gorilla Press from Ryback to Owens onto the outside sure got a pop from me. Incredible strength right there. This match was really weird because Owens controlled most of the match, then cheated to win. Whatever man, as long as Kevin is champion and Ryback isn’t, I’m happy.

Verdict: **1/2

Should You Watch It: Yes

Dolph Ziggler vs. Rusev

Eric Nadas: Match was decent but I really didn’t care about this match! This whole storyline romance drama whatever you wanna call it makes me want to sleep. Even when you have a good match, it doesn’t matter when no cares about about the story. Though I did like it when Rusev thought he won the match. He was celebrating like Angle from Royal Rumble 2002. The finish though….. UGHHHHHH. So the ref told Summer to go to the back and she got mad and accidentally threw her shoe at Rusev and Ziggler hits him with the Zig Zag for the win. Great.

Verdict: **1/2

Should You Watch It: Nope

Dylan Osborn: A decent contest, more slow and a little less action than their SummerSlam match. Rusev looking more dominant with Ziggler getting some offence. Then a freaking SHOE! From Summer Rae costing Rusev, poor end to a decent affair, please end this angle.

Verdict: **1/4

Should You Watch It: No

OKayFabe: Like a real international incident, it was boring and I didn’t really care.

Ryan Davis: I don’t have much to say about this match. Rusev can do a lot better than this. The ending was awful, but I’m sure one of the other panelists will cover it.

Verdict: **

Should You Watch It: No

The Dudley Boyz vs. The New Day(c) – WWE Tag Team Championship

Eric Nadas: Before the match the New Day getting that promo time! They said lots of big stars have signed the petition on Saving The Tables such as Bill Nye The Science Guy and Jake From Statefarm, New Day are killing it as they do every single week. As for the match this was a really good and fun match. Xavier Woods had a great performance with that trombone especially when Big E did that splash onto Bubba Ray, had me cracking up. The Dudley Boyz almost had this match with hitting Kofi Kingston with the 3D but Xavier broke up the pin which resulted in a DQ, smart booking on the WWE as they keep the Dudleys strong. After the match the New Day get the tables and they tried to put the Dudleys through the table but they fell short and Xavier got hit with a 3D through the table. Dudleys win by DQ but still Tag Champs New Day!

Verdict: ***1/2

Should You Watch It: Yes

Dylan Osborn: A good match between the new breed of The New Day and the Veteran Dudley Boyz. New Day continue their great act pre and post match, but a solid team in the ring as well, The Dudleyz showing they still have it, the DQ finish is a bit of a cop out so expect a three way match with the PTP at HIAC.

Verdict: ***1/4

Should You Watch It: Yes

OKayFabe: Overall the most entertaining match of the evening, a fun ride from start to finish courtesy of well times trumpet lessons

Ryan Davis: The champions came out first in this match, too. Why?

Devon and Kofi have a bit of chemistry together. Is it because they’re black? No, I doubt that, but it is cool to see them interact. This was a good match, man. It was nice, fun, and entertaining. Just a cool match. WWE made the right choice in having New Day walking away with the titles, it’d be stupid to take them off this early.

Verdict: ***1/2

Should You Watch It: Yes

Charlotte vs. Nikki Bella(c) – WWE Diva’s Championship

Dylan Osborn: Honestly considering how pointless this match was and my lack of interest, this match was decent enough. Played a lot on Nikki wearing out Charlotte’s leg, but that was really it for the most part. Charlotte is your new champion, but pointless considering the lust of the moment from RAW is gone and watch out for fans turning on her soon.

Verdict: **

Should You Watch It: No

Eric Nadas: This was a fine match, pretty one-sided with Nikki on Charlotte which was kind of ridiculous  But this match showed that Nikki CAN wrestle, she kept going for the leg of Charlotte. This ended with Charlotte using the Figure 8 on Nikki Bella and Nikki tapping and we have a new Divas Champion! Ric Flair celebrated with Charlotte in an emotional fashion and them strutting together.

Verdict: ***

Should You Watch It: Sure

OKayFabe: Crowning moment for Charolette and true passing of the guard. Let’s not talk about the old guard..GO CHAROLTTE

Ryan Davis: Didn’t watch this match, too busy setting up this review article. Charlotte’s the Diva’s champion now, what’s Bram up to? Oh…

Ryan Davis: I’m sorry, I’m sorry. I have to interrupt this review to talk about a segment real quick. We saw Team PCB and Ric Flair backstage and Charlotte FLAIR, the DAUGHTER of RIC FLAIR doesn’t even know her father’s “Limousine Ridin'” shtick. It’s already bad enough being Ric Flair’s daughter is her gimmick, but she fucks up being his daughter? WHAT?! I’ve been saying it all along, man, Becky Lynch should’ve been in Charlotte’s position.

The Wyatt Family vs. Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and Chris Jericho

Eric Nadas: The third man was not any of my picks but it was Y2J, Chris Jericho in a mark out moment! I sure marked out, but when you think about it, how does this add to the storyline? Well it did add at the end of the match, as this wasn’t really special unless you just want to see Jericho. Roman Reigns was just ready to end Strowman with another spear, then Jericho just tags himself in and goes for the lionsault and Strowman kicked out. Jericho tried to go for Codebreaker but gets caught into the finisher of Strowman and goes for the Strangle Hold as I like to call it and wins the match. After that Jericho just intentionally bumps into Ambrose and Reigns. Heel turn possibly?

Verdict: ***1/2

Should You Watch It: If you want to see Jericho then yes

Dylan Osborn: Considering the men involved, this match had a lot of wasted potential, it was good, but could have been so much more. Jericho being there didn’t really make sense considering the mystery partner was suppose to level out Braun Strowman. The Wyatts winning was good as it shows bringing Braun in has given them the edge for now.

Verdict: ***1/2

Should You Watch It: Yes

OkayFabe: A match that had great potential and was solid overall. The booking of this match was perfect with Jericho putting over Strauman.

John Cena vs. Seth Rollins(c) – WWE United States Championship

Dylan Osborn: Overall not as good as their SummerSlam match but a very good contest still. Both men showing their stuff Cena’s hurricanrana and Seth’s double suplex spots were great sights to see. But WHY LET CENA WIN BACK THE TITLE A MONTH LATER?!?!?!?!

Verdict: ****1/4

Should You Watch It: Yes

Eric Nadas: This match was great from start to end. Both men gave great performances but in the end John Cena beat Seth Rollins with an Attitude Adjustment for the win and I’m surprised it didn’t take multiple AAs. But Seth with that superplex into another suplex looked beautiful not enough for the pin though. If you thought John Cena wasn’t going be United States Champion then what would he be doing then? Going for the 16th World Champion? Nah thats gonna happen at a Wrestlemania but anyways Cena is your new United States Champion.

Verdict: ****1/2

Should You Watch It: Yes

OKayFabe: Cena wins, lol

Ryan Davis: This match wasn’t as good as their previous match at SummerSlam, but it was pretty damn close. Both men went out and killed it. Add Seth Rollins to the list of guys John Cena actually tries in his matches for. Nobody should be mad that John Cena won because if he didn’t, you know what he’s start doing? Going after the World title. Do you want that? I didn’t think so. Plus, Seth Rollins has already had a pretty bland WWE title reign thus far, do you really want him to have one with the U.S title as well?

Verdict: ***1/2

Should You Watch It: Yes

Seth Rollins(c) vs. Sting – WWE World Heavyweight Championship

Eric Nadas: Before the match Seth tried to get out of this match, but Cena said no no on, and hit him with an Attitude Adjustment onto the floor which JBL was infuriated and said that its not fair blah blah blah. This was great but not as great as Rollins and Cena. I have to admit that Sting is a trooper for taking those spots especially that bump on the announce table. I really think that Sting was injured when he almost collapsed because he took not one but two buckle bombs, he shouldn’t even take a buckle bomb but I’m not Sting. Sting goes for Scorpion Death Lock, Seth goes to the ropes, Sting does it again but Rollins counters it into a rollup for the win. As Seth was celebrating, Sheamus comes out and tries to cash in his MITB contract, but then The Demon Kane makes his return and chokeslams Rollins, chokeslams Sheamus, and tombstones Rollins and stands tall to end off the show.

Verdict: ****

Should You Watch It: Yes

Dylan Osborn: Now I was angry with how the match started as it felt cheap for Sting to get  a head start (Yet Nikki can’t cheat amiright?) But the match itself was better than I expected, Sting showing he still had it and Seth pulling off double duty in a stella performance tonight to carry 2 matches. The ending felt rushed and awkward with Sting potentially being legitimately hurt during that match. Post match Sheamus tries to cash in but Kane comes out chokeslamming both men to end the PPV, one last run with the title for Kane?

Verdict: ****

Should You Watch It: Yes

OKayFabe: Props to Seth for pulling double duty but cash in attempt raises more questions that answers

Ryan Davis: Sting really can go, man. He impressed me. Seth treated him no different than an opponent within his age group. Highly entertaining and exceeded my expectations very, very much.

Verdict: ***1/2

Should You Watch It: Yes
